Jazz
I got the connection to Jazz rather late. But once the door was open it quickly played a big role in my personal life and still does. It was mostly Bebop I was attracted to and Miles, Dizzy, Bird, Monk - or their music to be precise - have been with me allmost on a daily basis during the past 20 years. The only thing I was sorry about was that I would never be able to see them in person and to take some photos of them since I was born too late for that.
In 2016 I stumbled upon a very nice newspaper article MPS (Musik Produktion Schwarzwald) and Hans-Georg Brunner-Schwer, the head behind it in Die Zeit. That was the moment when I thought: "ok, you are too late for Miles & Co but the nice thing about Jazz is that it is still alife and there are a lot of excellent musicians and bands out there. It is not too late to shoot Jazz."
It took an other year untill the idea turned into photos. Shortly after we moved to Schwerin, I contacted Maria Wöhrle-Braun who organizes the Schweriner Jazznight and other Jazz concerts with international musicians. A couple of months later I shot my first Jazz photo.
